Owner, Instructor, and Guide
Ben is a native of Virginia where he grew up paddling on the Rapidan and Rappahannock rivers. Over the past 20 years Ben has been fortunate to have had opportunities to work alongside numerous paddlesport instructors and coaches at various paddling schools, outfitters, and colleges throughout the U.S. and abroad including NOLS, Zoar Outdoors, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Jackson Hole Kayak School, Amazing Vacations Costa Rica, DeRiemer Adventure Kayaking, Otter Bar Lodge Kayak School, New Zealand Kayak School, Wilderness Rescue International, Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center, Canoe Kayak and Paddle Company, Pinniped Kayak and many others. Ben's diverse experience and skillset includes river kayaking, swiftwater rescue, stand up paddleboarding, canoeing, and coastal kayaking. Ben's strengths lie in his excitement to share his passion for paddlesports with others, his eagerness to continue to grow and develop as a paddler and instructor, and his positive interpersonal skills. Ben is excited to work and support organizations and individuals through instructing river rescue, coaching to develop the "whole paddler", and facilitating American Canoe Association Instructor Development and Certification Workshops.
